FAQs
How do I scan a QR code with my camera?
Click 'Use Camera', then click 'Start Camera'. Grant camera permissions when prompted. Position the QR code within the scanning frame on your screen. The QR code will be automatically detected and decoded within seconds.
Can I scan QR codes from images?
Yes! Click 'Upload Image' and select a QR code image from your device. The tool supports JPG, PNG, WebP, and other common image formats. This is useful for scanning QR codes from screenshots or saved images.
What types of QR codes are supported?
Our scanner supports all standard QR code types including: URLs/websites, plain text, email addresses, phone numbers, SMS messages, WiFi credentials, contact cards (vCard), geographic locations, and calendar events.
Can I scan WiFi QR codes?
Yes! When you scan a WiFi QR code, the tool automatically parses and displays the network name (SSID), password, and encryption type in an easy-to-read format. You can then copy the credentials to connect to the network.
Does this work on mobile devices?
Absolutely! The QR scanner works on all modern smartphones and tablets. On mobile devices, it will automatically use your back camera for easier scanning. You can also upload images from your photo gallery.
Is my camera feed recorded or uploaded?
No! All QR code scanning happens entirely in your browser. Your camera feed is processed locally and never recorded, uploaded, or stored. We respect your privacy completely.
Why do I need to grant camera permissions?
Camera permissions are required to access your device's camera for real-time QR code scanning. These permissions are only used for scanning and can be revoked at any time in your browser settings.
What if the QR code won't scan?
Ensure good lighting, hold your device steady, and position the QR code fully within the scanning frame. If camera scanning fails, try uploading a clear photo of the QR code instead. Make sure the QR code isn't damaged or too blurry.
Can I scan multiple QR codes?
Yes! After scanning a QR code, click 'Scan Another' to scan additional codes. You can switch between camera and upload modes at any time.
