FAQs
How does the color extraction work?
The tool analyzes your image pixel by pixel, groups similar colors together, and identifies the most dominant colors based on their frequency and distribution in the image.
What image formats are supported?
The tool supports all common image formats including JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and BMP. Simply upload any image and the colors will be extracted automatically.
What are color harmonies?
Color harmonies are combinations of colors that work well together based on color theory. Complementary colors are opposite on the color wheel, analogous colors are adjacent, triadic uses three evenly spaced colors, tetradic uses four colors in two complementary pairs, and monochromatic uses variations of a single hue.
Can I use the extracted colors in my designs?
Yes! All extracted colors are provided in HEX, RGB, and HSL formats that you can use directly in design software, CSS, or any other application. Simply click to copy the color code.
How many colors can I extract?
You can extract between 3 and 10 dominant colors from any image. Use the slider to adjust the number based on your needs.
What is the dominant color?
The dominant color is the color that appears most frequently in the image. It's displayed separately with its percentage of coverage in the image.
Can I export the color palette?
Yes! Click the 'Export' button to download your color palette as a PNG image showing all the extracted colors in a horizontal strip.
Is my image stored or uploaded to a server?
No. All color extraction happens locally in your browser. Your images are never uploaded to any server, ensuring complete privacy.
